2018 TRIP TO PRUDHOE

From 23rd to 26th of March 2018, a group of Scouts and Explorers from 1st Madrid visited 1st Prudhoe in Northumberland for once-in-a-lifetime joint adventures.

Over three days we were taught practical skills such as how to handle paraffin lamps and how to do backwoods cooking; we explored Hexham Abbey, Alnwick Gardens and Dunstanburgh Castle; some of the brave among us ate Craster kippers, others had fish & chips; we hiked beside the river Tyne and walked along the rocks on the Northumbrian coastline.

The evenings were full of music and laughter around the camp fire. The mornings were rather cold with frost accumulating on our tents overnight!

Throughout it all, firm friendships were formed and we are looking forward to receiving 1 st Prudhoe in Madrid in 2019 for a return experience.

In the meantime, check out this video to see what we got up to.
